Kryla's Choreographic repertoire has developed over the years as costuming and music have expanded.  Originally starting with Central Ukraine and Storyline dances in the early 1980's, Kryla introduced Western Regional dance styles in 1986 with the hiring of a new instructor - Nathaniel Ostashewski. Since then Kryla has established a wide range of choreographies presenting  regional styles from six ethnographic regions of Ukraine.

Like other Canadian Ukrainian Dance groups, Kryla has evolved its own "Canadian Ukrainian" dance style!  As influences and information from Ukraine, Europe, and other dance styles around the world continue to evolve, so does Kryla's ARTISTIC forms of folk dance Choreography - and that is what continues to make it exciting!
